Criminal Record Checks
Anyone managing or helping out REGULAR with your child's team MUST complete a CRC check AND a FA safeguarding children course immediately before starting as an offiial!!. (Courses are online will take approx 2 hours to complete
If managers appoint an assistant or regular helper with the team it is there responsibility to ensure you get them to do the online code of conduct on this page
and make sure they complete a CRC check and it is cleared by FA before becoming a regular helper. If they are just standing in as one offs now and then to cover when you work etc then they wont need to do one but anyone who is officially recognised as an assistant or regular coach for the team must complete this process.
How to do FA CRC Check
Step 1 - Check you have a FA Account and set up one if you have not (Google FA wholegame to set one up)
Step 2 - Email your full name, date of birth, FA number, Mobile number and what team you will be working with and in what capacity - ie assistant manager / regular helper to msvwelfareofficer@gmail.com
Step 3 - Once Welfare officer has added you then Log back in to Whole game and click my DBS, this will send a link to your email. Click the link and fill out all the necessary info
(You will be asked for your National Insurance number and 3 forms of ID)
Step 4 - Once you complete the online info You must then email msvwelfareofficer@gmail.com a photo of your id. If you are unknown to the committee you will be asked to pop in to verify the docs.
Step 5 - You should get a copy of your dbs check in the post, once this arrives please email msvwelfareofficer@gmail.com to say it is back and they will attach you to the team (We dont need to see a copy of this if their is nothing on) If you have anything on your DBS then you will need to send it off recorded delivery to The FA safeguarding team, 1 Wilford Buisness Park, Ruddington Lane, Nottinghamshire, NG11 7EP. Again we will not see your dbs or be informed of anything that is on it due to data protection. The FA will then pass your DBS and send you a letter back. Once this is back let the welfare officer know and they will attach you to the team
UNTIL THE WELFARE OFFICER AS OFFIALLY ATTACHED YOU TO THE TEAM AND GIVEN YOU THE GREEN LIGHT YOU SHOULD NOT BE HELPING AS A REGULAR WITH THE TEAM - ONE OFF COVER ONLY IF MANAGER IS STUCK IS OK
FA Courses
Courses are now all online so you don't physically need to attend
All managers or regular helpers should complete the FA playmaker course which is free of charge plus the FA safeguarding Children course
The main nominated manager / coach for the team must complete a FA Introduction to coaching course within the first season of taking the team on. (U7 and u8 managers will be reimbursed once they complete this course off the club - U9 up over will need to cover this in their budgeted subs and may need to increase their subs slightly to cover managers courses if they need to attend one)
All existing managers must renew their Safeguarding Children and FA First Aid Courses every 3 years.
How to enrol on a FA introduction , First Aid or Safeguarding courses
All courses are online and you can enrol and can be accessed by googling FA boot room - new dates are regularly added so check often if dates don't match up. You can also miss live tutorials and catch up if dates don't suit
